Information services of the Register of Foundations

In the Foundations Register, you can find register information about foundations, their by-laws and financial statements. You can also order copies of documents enclosed with applications or notifications to the Register of Foundations. However, some documents, such as balance sheet specifications enclosed with financial statements, are not publicly available. You can obtain information about foundations through our electronic services, by placing an order for copies, or through our telephone service.

1. Virre Information Service

In Virre’s Foundation Search you can search for registered, unregistered and terminated foundations. The search will return a list of foundations matching your search criteria. From the list you can proceed to the foundation’s basic details free of charge. From the Virre Information Service you can quickly and easily buy our electronic products such as the electronic register extract and the financial statements of a foundation. You can access the electronic products as soon as you have simply paid your purchases by e-payment or credit card. You can also place an order with Virre for products that are delivered by mail.

An extract from the Register of the Foundations contains, for example:

• Foundation’s name, Business ID, place of registered office, and postal address
• Date of grant of establishment, and date of confirmation of by-laws
• Purpose of foundation
• Board of Trustees, and authorised signatories

2. BIS Search

For basic information on foundations and their enrolment in different registers of the Tax administration, visit the Business Information System (BIS). You can also buy selections from the information contained in BIS.
