Ten Car Designers at the Innogallery (26 August - 16 December 2008)
Sketches
The sketch is a designer’s tool
Every product must be designed first. Product design is brainwork and the sketch is the means whereby an idea is given a visible form. Sketches are used to process, develop and test a design, whereby the design evolves, sketch by sketch, towards a more concrete form.
As the product development process goes on, the sketches become, one by one, unnecessary – and remain unseen for all others but the members of the design team, although they are true specimen of creativity, talent and often even masterly skill.
National Board of Patents and Registration’s Innogallery presents sketches of ten Finnish car designers working in different parts of the world. The designers laying out their artwork are Antti Savio, Eero Kankainen, Heikki Naulapää, Janne Haveri, Janne Kutja, Jarno Lehtinen, Jouni Silfver, Jussi Timonen, Pasi Paananen and Timo Suomala.
Sketches by car designers are exhibited at the Innogallery until 15 December 2008.
