Public Notice Given in Accordance with Section 24 of the Trade Register Act to Closed-Down General Partnerships and Limited Patnerships

General partnerships and limited partnerships that have not submitted any notifications to the Trade Register since 1993, and are presumed to have closed down their business, will be removed from the Register under Section 24 of the Trade Register Act.

The particulars of general partnerships and limited partnerships have been compared with the particulars contained in the Finnish Business Information System (www.ytj.fi) to ensure that still operating general partnerships and limited partnerships will not be removed from the Register. General partnerships and limited partnerships entered in the Prepayment Register, the VAT Register or the Employer Register kept by the Tax Authorities are considered as active and are therefore not struck off the Register.

In May 2004, we sent an enquiry to about 10400 general partnerships and limited partnerships that were subject to our striking-off procedure, in order to find out whether those partnerships still carry on business. About 550 still operating general partnerships and limited partnerships answered our enquiry.

A public notice to approximately 9850 general partnerships and limited partnerships that still are subject to our striking-off procedure was published on 16 August 2004 in Trade Register Gazette no 33A. In the notice, the National Board of Patents and Registration (NBPR) invites general partnerships and limited partnerships to report in writing and not later than on 16 November 2004 whether they carry on business (please send the answer to this address: National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland, Trade Register, P.O. Box 1150, FI-00101 Helsinki, or to this fax number: +358 (0)9 6939 5533). If a general partnership or limited partnership does not report itself before the appointed date, and no other information verifies its operation, it will be removed from the Register in November 2004.

The Trade Register Gazette no 33A is available at NBPR’s PatRek Client Service at the address Arkadiankatu 6 A, 00100 Helsinki. The Gazette has also been sent to Employment and Economic Development Centres (TE Centres), Local Register Offices ("maistraatti") and Enterprice Agencies.
