Amendments to PCT Regulations from 1 July 2010

The Regulations of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) change from 1 July 2010. The amendments provide for amendments to applications, the scope and limitation of supplementary international searches, and the establishment of equivalent amounts of fees.

Changes to fees from 1 September 2010

Due to a change in the euro/Swiss franc rate, the WIPO has decided to adjust the following prices. The price adjustments will enter into force on 1 September 2010.

• International filing fee EUR 950(now EUR 878)

• additional fee for each page in excess of 30 EUR 11 (now EUR 10)

• reductions on the international filing fee for electronic applications
  - the request is in character coded format EUR 143 (now EUR 132)
  - the request, description, claims and abstract are in character coded format
  EUR 214 (now EUR 198)
