NBPR administrative and support functions face reorganization
The National Board of Patents and Registration (NBPR) has today, 1 March 2011, launched a reorganization process of its administrative and support functions concerning about 70 employees.
The present organization dates back to 1990's. In order to improve its operation, the NBPR must reconsider its functions and improve its performance through cost reductions. Moreover, the performance agreement for 2011 between the NBPR and its steering ministry, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, requires streamlining of the NBPR.
The co-operation procedure of six weeks may lead to the termination of the employment contract of a maximum of 20 employees on financial and production-related grounds. The new organization and rules of procedure are planned to take effect during May.
The NBPR has a staff of 470.
