National Board of Patents and Registration in 2011 – reforms and improvements

In 2011, the National Board of Patents and Registration (NBPR) introduced new strategies and set new strategic priorities.

The NBPR showed a clearly positive result, and the development of the productivity of work was excellent. The reasons for this growth were the implementation of online processing systems, the growing popularity of online services, the reorganisation of tasks and resources, and improved staff competence.

The number of new businesses registered rose slightly, but the number of new associations and foundations, as well as applications for industrial property rights, remained the same as in previous years.

As previously, clients were very satisfied with our operations and services. There were, however, requests for better usability and scope of our online services. Work satisfaction was higher than in 2010 – the categories with the highest ratings were work environment and co-operation, and job content and positive challenges.
