Information service on published Trade Register entries
Information such as new businesses or changes to business details entered into the register on the present date are available in our electronic information service on published Trade Register entries. This public, free-of-charge service is accessible around the clock in Finnish, Swedish and English. Its purpose is to give notice of new Trade Register entries, and to make them publicly viewable.

Who is the service for?
The service may be suitable for you if you want
- to get information about registered new businesses in a municipality
- to follow up changes to the details of your clients or contract partners
- to check if a company has reported a new board of directors for registration, or
- to check if a company’s financial statements have already been registered in the current year.

What information is available?
The following details are available in the Trade Register’s information service on published entries:
- company name and Business ID
- place of registered office
- date of registration in the Trade Register
- information about whether the business is in liquidation, under restructuring, bankrupt, or dissolved
The following information given in a registered public notice is available:
- registration date of the business
- company name and place of registered office on the registration date
- type of registration (establishment, change, closing down, application, or financial statements)
- record number of the notification
- headings for the register entries (Board of Directors, Place of registered office, Share capital, Signing on behalf of the company, Representation based on position, Accounting period, Holders of a procuration)
The service covers the notifications and businesses concerned that have been recorded in the Trade Register from 1 September 2006 onwards.
Where or how can I get further information about a business?
Who are the Board members of the limited liability company A?
- Go to the Virre Information Service for detailed Trade Register information, such as the composition of a Board of Directors, or a company’s line of business and share capital.
- Basic details are free of charge. For other items there are fees, payable easily by e-payment or credit card.
How can I get a company’s Business ID when only its name is known?
Search by name free of charge on
- either the Business Information System (BIS) or
- the Virre Information Service.
How can I get the financial statements of a business?
- Financial statements are easily accessible on the Virre Information Service.
Other media for publication of register entries
Trade Register Gazette
Register entries made before 1 September 2006 were published in the Trade Register Gazette once a week. These Gazettes are available at the Library of the National Board of Patents and Registration.
Official Journal
The Official Journal publishes public notices to creditors of companies in conjunction with procedures such as mergers and demergers, reduction of share capital, reduction of legal reserve or share premium reserve, distribution of reserves of unrestricted equity under observance of creditor protection, and liquidation. The publication takes place about one week after the registration of the issue.
