Online application – eOLF (Epoline Online Filing)
You can use eOLF software for filing patent applications with the National Board of Patents and Registration (NBPR). The software is created in collaboration with the European Patent Office (EPO). Patent documents can be filed through eOLF every day of the year. The filing date will be the exact day the documents arrive at the NBPR, including weekends and holidays.
For filing patent applications online you need:
- the eOLF software (please see download eOLF software below)
- a smart card, or a qualified certificate, for proving your identity online (Read more about certificates)
- a card reader and a driver software for it
- Amyuni PDF Converter software that you can order from EPO free of charge (e-mail: support@epo.org, tel. +31 (0)70 340 45 00), or similar software for creating PDF files
Download eOLF software
- Download and install the eOLF software: the full installation package. If more than one person in the organisation will be using eOLF you could choose to download the full package on one computer and only part of the package on the other computers. Read more about different eOLF versions and installation packages on EPO’s website.
- Download and install 32-bit version of mPollux card reader software from the Population Register Centre’s website in order to read the smart card chip.
- Copy the cryptoki.dll file from the mPollux installation folder to the eOLF installation folder.
32-bit Windows:
from folder C:\Program Files\Fujitsu Services\Fujitsu mPollux DigiSign Client for VRK
to folder C:\Program Files\EPO_OLF5
64-bit Windows:
from folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Fujitsu Services\Fujitsu mPollux DigiSign Client for VRK
to folder C:\Program Files (x86)\EPO_OLF5 - Download and install any Live Updates. If new updates are available, eOLF notifies you about them automatically when you open the software.
- Register your smart card. Please observe that the card must be inserted into the card reader in order for the link to work.
