Electronic signatures and certificates

For e-signatures, the NBPR accepts the following qualified certificates, all of which meet the Patent Regulations:

• electronic identity card (granted by the Police)
• organization card (granted by the Population Register Centre)
• epoline smart card (granted by EPO)
  

For sending patent documents, the Epoline Online Filing software uses encryption and strong identification, which is why all those sending documents must register their smart cards.

Register your card. Please observe that the card must be inserted into the card reader in order for the link to work.

Order the epoline smart card from EPO. Press the Accept button at the bottom of the page to accept the terms of use. When you have received the EPO smart card, save the certificate on your computer: Ohje varmenteen tallentamiseksi (Instructions for storing the certificate) (PDF file, in Finnish).
