London Agreement and validation of European Patents

An amendment of the Patents Act enters into force on 1 November 2011. Finland accedes thereby to the London Agreement, which is a protocol relating to the European Patent Convention. Under the transitional provision of article 9, the London Agreement is applied on European patents to be validated in Finland in respect of which the mention of grant was published in the European Patent Bulletin 1 November 2011 or after. The agreement is thereby not applicable on patents granted before 1 November 2011.
