Housing company registrations increased by 16 per cent

Last year, 1,151 new housing companies were entered into the Trade Register, which is an increase of 16 per cent from 2010. The number of new business registrations was 31,229, which is an increase of 2 per cent from 2010.

The province of Uusimaa accounted for the highest number (11,483) of new businesses and housing companies, followed by Southwest Finland (2,871) and the Tampere Region (2,799). Among the new businesses, the most attractive types of business are private trader (16,216) and limited liability company (12,738).

At the end of 2011, the number of businesses and housing companies registered in the Trade Register totalled 548,915.

The National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland (NBPR) provides an electronic information service on published Trade Register entries, where you can, free of charge, check the new registrations – of today or last week, for example, – in a certain municipality. Go to the service.
