Patents pending in Finland fast-tracked in Israel

The National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland (NBPR) and the Israel Patent Office (ILPO) are launching a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program commencing October 15, 2012.

Under the PPH program, an applicant receiving from the ILPO either a national patent application related Office Action or a PCT application related Written Opinion specifying that at least one claim has novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability and is thus allowable, may request that the NBPR fast-track the examination of corresponding claims in corresponding applications.

The Patent Prosecution Highway will utilize fast-track patent examination procedures at the NBPR to allow applicants in Israel to obtain corresponding patents in Finland faster and more efficiently.
