Collections

Our patent collection contains thousands of Nordic patent publications in paper form. Paper documents are still popular because they are easy to browse, even though more and more patent applicants and inventors search information from Internet-based databases and cd-roms through the workstations in the reading room

• over 60 million patent documents from over 40 countries in Espacenet
• 10 million patent publications on cd-roms
• 25,000 books on industrial property, commercial and business law, different fields of technology, patenting, trade marks, designs, utility models, associations and foundations
• patent gazettes and central industrial property publications

Up-to-date special library

Works on industrial property (patents, trade marks, designs), company law, associations and foundations together with publications of industrial property organisations form the core of our Special library.

Technical handbooks, law books and special dictionaries are also needed when one studies patent publications. Also old encyclopaedias are often used despite the growing supply of network services.

We update all information in our publications at regular intervals. We monitor industrial property legislation in Finland, the Nordic countries and within the EU. All books and periodicals after 1990 are catalogued in our KITInet-database.
