Patent disputes

If someone infringes a patent in Finland, and the patent holder wishes to bring suit for infringement, the suit shall be brought before the District Court of Helsinki. The same applies to cases where someone wishes to invalidate a granted patent.

A decision by the District Court of Helsinki can be appealed from to the Helsinki Court of Appeal and, if a leave to appeal is granted, to the Supreme Court of Finland.
