Eurasian Patent Organisation (EAPO)

The Eurasian Patent Convention, EAPC, has been joined by nine states: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Belarus and the Russian Federation. It is possible to apply for patent protection for all these countries by filing one single application.

The Eurasian Patent Office is located in Moscow. The application must be filed in the Russian language. The contracting states are not designated separately in the application; they are all included in the application.

The Eurasian Patent Organisation may be designated as one country in PCT applications.

African Regional Industrial Property Organisation (ARIPO)

The organisation has 15 members: Botswana, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

By filing one single application it is possible to obtain a patent for all the member states. ARIPO can be designated in PCT applications.

African Intellectual Property Organisation / Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OAPI)

The organisation has 16 members: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

By filing one single application it is possible to obtain a patent for all the member states. OAPI can be designated in PCT applications.
