When are preliminary checks made?

Before important congresses, large federations let the Register of Associations check the amendments to their own rules (bylaws) and to the rules of their member associations. In this way, the federations make sure that the congress deals with proposed rules approved by the Register of Associations.

Federations also let the Register of Associations check the rules of their member associations, district organisations and divisions and thereby ensure that the rules do not contradict each other and that every member association follows the same model rules.

A preliminary check can also be requested by an association having special grounds to let the Register of Associations in advance examine an unusual, proposed rule or whether, for example, an association can be registered as a non-profit association.

The Association Register conducts a preliminary check when the size of an association, the significance of an amendment to a rule or other similar matters so require.
