Notification procedure
Documents to be submitted when filing a religious community for registration:
The Notification of Amendment is used for notifying an amendment to the bylaws of a religious community, or the local bylaws of a local community or a congregation for registration. It is also used for notifying a change of persons authorised to sign for the community and for notifying the separation or disassociation of a local community or a congregation from the religious community. The notification has to be complemented by the amended bylaws or local bylaws and a receipt of payment.
The Notification of Dissolution is used for notifying the dissolution of a religious community, local community or a congregation. The dissolution of a religious community, local community or a congregation is considered to have become final when an entry on the dissolution is made in the register. No attachments are needed. The notification is to be signed by the chairperson of the religious community's Committee of Directors (also as regards a local community or a congregation) or by the liquidator.
Preliminary checks A religious community may have have its bylaws preliminarily checked. However, this is not possible as regards the bylaws of local communities.
Notification fees are to be found in the price list.
The role of the Local Register Office: The Population Register continues to keep a register of the members of religious communities. A religious community must notify persons entering into and resigning from the community to the Population Register system. A member can resign from a community by notifying in writing the religious community or any of the Local Register Offices thereof.
