Those applying for or renewing an LEI code at the PRH must file parent entity details, starting from 27 September 2017

From 27 September 2017 onwards, companies and entities applying for or renewing an LEI code at the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) must file details about their direct and ultimate parent entities, or indicate that there are no parent entities.

File the details by completing our online form. You must enter the parent entity details or give a reason for not entering them before you can continue filling in the form. At the same time, you must read and agree to our LEI service agreement and terms of use.

How to file parent entity details

Enter the following details of the direct and ultimate parent entities on the online form:

  • name and Finnish Business ID or contact details of the parent entity
  • LEI code (if any) of the parent entity
  • accounting standards used by the parent entity
  • duration of the relationship between the parent entity and the entity applying for or renewing an LEI code
  • list of documents (if any) showing the relationship between the parent entity and the entity applying for or renewing an LEI code, such as consolidated financial statements.

The ultimate parent entity may be the same as the direct parent entity.

What to do if there are no parent entities or if you cannot file their details

When completing the online form, give a reason for not filing parent entity details. For example, if the entity applying for or renewing an LEI code is owned by private persons, select “The entity is owned by private persons" as your reason.

Once you have completed the online form, print out and sign it and send it to the PRH. Enclose the documents (if any) that show the relationship between the parent entity and the entity applying for or renewing an LEI code.

Go to the online form to file parent entity details or to give a reason for not filing them.

What does an LEI code cost?

Our application fee for an LEI code is 110 euros + VAT 24 %. An invoicing charge of 6.50 euros + VAT 24 % will be added to the fee. We will send you an invoice after issuing the code. Renewing an LEI code at the PRH costs 70 euros + VAT 24 %. We will send you the first invoice for the renewal approximately 10 months after registering the code.

An LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) is a global organisational code that helps legal entities on the financial market to identify each other. The PRH issues LEI codes to companies and entities with Finnish Business IDs.
