From 2019, the BIS transfers to the Finnish Patent and Registration Office

On 1 January 2019 the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) takes over the responsibility of the Business Information System (BIS). Up until now, the Finnish Tax Administration and the PRH have jointly maintained and developed the BIS and its services.

The BIS transfer to the PRH will not affect the services it provides.

Businesses and organizations can file notifications as usual on ytj.fi using our online services or paper forms.

No changes will take place in our online Company search. Basic details of businesses and organizations will be available as before.

The PRH and the Tax Administration process and register notifications and will continue to provide advisory service to our customers

The PRH processes and registers notifications filed with the Trade Register. We also give advice about questions related to the Trade Register.

The Tax Administration provides advice and guidance on questions associated with the Tax Administration’s registers and processes notifications filed with for instance the VAT register.

The BIS is the basic register comprising both Finnish businesses and organizations and those registered in Finland. The BIS includes the businesses and organizations entered in the Trade Register and the Register of Foundations and also the businesses and organizations entered only in the Tax Administration’s registers.
