Re-entering removed companies to the Finnish Trade Register – instructions for companies removed before 2023
These instructions are intended for companies that the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) removed from the Finnish Trade Register before 2023. The reason for removal was one of the following:
- The limited liability company or co-operative failed to file its financial statements.
- The company or housing company failed to file a competent board of directors.
Please note that these instructions do not apply to the companies removed from the Finnish Trade Register since 2023. Read our instructions on re-registering a company deregistered since 2023.

When to file a notification of re-entry to the register
A company removed from the Finnish Trade Register before 2023 may file a notification of re-entry to the register within 5 years of the removal.
How to file a notification or complete a pending notification
You can submit the notification or send the requested additional submissions on our online form.
Select on the online form the matter your notification concerns:
- Re-entry to the Finnish Trade Register
- Completion to notification
Confirm in the notification that the company has not been dissolved and that its assets have not been distributed in the liquidation procedure.
Use a separate personal data form to provide the contact person’s contact details.
Use separate forms to complete or correct the details in the Finnish Trade Register. Please note that a dissolved company cannot submit the details via the online service at ytj.fi.

The notification should be signed by a person responsible for the company or by a person authorised by them. If an authorised person signs the notification, enclose a copy of a special power of attorney, or the original general power of attorney.
Requirements for re-entry to the Finnish Trade Register
A company may file a notification of re-entry to the Finnish Trade Register if it meets these requirements:
- The company remedies the negligence on which the deregistration was based.
- The company corrects all the errors and deficiencies in the Trade Register details. If there has been a change in the company's Trade Register information, make a notification of the change.
- The limited liability company or co-operative reports the approved financial statements for the last three (3) financial years, if they have not already been filed with the Finnish Trade Register.
Deficiencies and errors to be corrected
Your company must correct all the errors and deficiencies in its Trade Register details. For example, you should check the following:
- The limited liability company or co-operative has registered its financial statements for the three most recent financial periods.
- The beneficial owner details of a limited liability company or co-operative have been submitted and are up to date.
- The board of directors complies with the law and the articles of association or rules.
- The details of the responsible persons, such as the board members, are up to date.
- The personal identity codes of the responsible persons are registered in the Finnish Trade Register.
- The auditor is authorised (HT auditor, KHT auditor), meaning they are in the Register of Auditors.
- The company's postal or street address is recorded in the Finnish Business Information System at ytj.fi and the details are up to date.
Documents to be enclosed
In addition to the re-entry notification, submit the following attachments:
- Financial statements of the limited liability company or co-operative for the three most recent financial periods, if they have not already been filed with the Finnish Trade Register. Enclose the required financial statement documents and the notification forms for each financial period.
- Personal data form with the contact person’s details. Open: Personal data form.
- Notification of beneficial owners of the limited liability company or co-operative if the beneficial owner details have not yet been submitted or have changed. Open: Notification of actual beneficial owners.
- If necessary, a notification of changes in which the company files the missing or corrected details with the Finnish Trade Register.
- File the notification of changes using form Y4, appendix form 13, and the personal data form. Enclose the decisions of the elections, such as a copy or an extract of the minutes of the general meeting.

How to send the notification or completion to the PRH
Log in to the online formAvautuu uuteen välilehteen Ilmoitus kaupparekisteriin palauttamisesta in Finnish or “Ansökan om återinförande i handelsregistret” in Swedish.
To log in, you need to have a Finnish personal identity code and one of the following: personal internet banking codes, a mobile certificate, or a certificate card.
Fill in the online form. Attach the personal data form, the receipt, if any, for the payment of the handling fees, and other required attachments as PDF files. Remember to send the notification to receive a confirmation that the details have been sent to the Finnish Trade Register.
Fees
Processing the notification is free of charge. If the company’s details have changed, notifications related to them are subject to a fee.

Monitor the progress of your notification
You can monitor the progress of your notification to the PRH using the notification search in the Virre Information Service. Go to the Virre Information ServiceAvautuu uuteen välilehteen.
We will send a Trade Register extract to the company’s address recorded in the Finnish Business Information System at ytj.fi as soon as the company has been re-entered in the Finnish Trade Register.
Requests for the correction of errors made by the PRH
If the PRH has made an error during the deregistration procedure, you can ask the PRH to correct the error.
An example of such an error is if the PRH has registered a notification of beneficial owners or financial statements under the wrong Business ID.
Please note that if a company does not receive the PRH’s requests or reminders about the deregistration procedure, it is not considered an error. The PRH sends the requests and reminders to the company’s address recorded in the Finnish Business Information System at ytj.fi. The company is obliged to keep its address and contact details up to date.
