Term of utility models

The registration of a utility model is in force for four years from the filing date of the application. You can renew the registration twice: first, for four years and then for another two years. Thus, the maximum term is 10 years from the filing date of the application.

Invalidate a utility model

Anyone may try to invalidate a utility model by lodging an invalidity claim. If the invalidity claim is accepted, the utility model will be removed from the register. Read more about invalidation.
