Processing times

We aim to issue our first technical office action to you within eight months of your filing date. This applies to all patent applications filed with us. In the first technical office action, we explain whether your invention can be patented or not.

Respond to office actions carefully

You may receive a number of office actions which you are expected to respond to before receiving another office action or a final decision from us.

Quicker processing for well-drafted applications

Our goal is that it would take less than three years to complete a patent application process. The processing time is shorter if you file a well-drafted application and respond carefully to our office actions. Our patent examiners will process your application as soon as they can. You have 2–4 months to respond to office actions you receive during the application process.
