Chan­ges to fees for com­mercial tra­de­mark and de­sign right ser­vices from 1 Ja­nua­ry 2026

Due to higher costs, the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) will increase its fees for commercial trademark and design right services from 1 January 2026.

At the same time, the PRH will change the pricing of the renewal of trademarks with a reputation. The renewal fee will be divided into an application fee and an approval fee in the same way as the actual application fee is divided.

Changes to fees for commercial trademark services

The changes to the fees are provided below. The current fee is given in brackets. VAT of 25.5% will be added to all commercial fees.

Fees relating to trademarks with a reputation
Application fee 1,470 € (1,400 €)
Fee for entry in the list 680 € (650 €)
Renewal application fee 1,470 €
Renewal approval fee 680 €
Fee for late payment of renewal fee 350 € (330 €)
Request for removal 430 € (410 €)

Comprehensive preliminary examination (registrability)

Word mark (ES)
  • in one class 180 € (170 €)
  • for each subsequent class 45 € (40 €)
Figurative mark (EK)
  • in one class 95 € (90 €)
  • for each subsequent class 45 € (40 €)
Mark consisting of words and figurative elements (ESK)
  • in one class 220 € (210 €)
  • for each subsequent class 65 € (60 €)

Limited preliminary examination

Search in respect of distinguishing power (F)
  • in one class 90 € (85 €)
  • for each subsequent class 45 € (40 €)

Other fees

Certificate for the list of professional representatives maintained by EUIPO 60 € (50 €)
Trademark consultation and separate services, fee for work per hour 105 € (100 €)
Certificate based on trademark files 20 € (18 €)

Changes to fees for commercial design right services

The changes to the fees are provided below. The current fee is given in brackets. VAT of 25.5% will be added to all commercial fees.

Preliminary examination of designs

  • Basic fee 105 € (100 €)
  • Fee for each additional class (also for each subclass) 35 € (33 €)

Other fees

Certificate for the list of professional representatives maintained by EUIPO 60 € (50 €)
Design consultation and separate services, fee for work per hour 105 € (100 €)
Certificate based on design files 20 € (18 €)

The new fees will be published at prh.fi on 1 January 2026.
