Changes to patent, SPC, utility model and integrated circuit layout-design fees from 1 January 2026
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland has issued a new decree on the chargeable services of the PRH for the period 1 January to 31 December 2026. The fees will be increased to cover the costs in the PRH service groups.
The changes to the patent, SPC, utility model and integrated circuit layout-design fees are provided below. The current fee is given in brackets.
Application fees for patents
- Application fee
- the online filing system is used €450 (€430)
- the online filing system is not used €580 (€540)
- Additional fee for each claim over 15 €60 (€50)
- Additional fee for any claim filed after the application was filed, or should be deemed to have been filed, if the total number of claims exceeds the number of the claims for which the application fee has been paid €60 (€50)
- Publication fee
- the translation has been filed using the online filing system €450 (€430)
- the translation has not been filed using the online filing system €580 (€540)
- for correction of a translation €580 (€540)
- Translation fee €90 per page (€80 per page)
- Reinstatement fee
- first reinstatement €110 (€90)
- subsequent reinstatements €190 (€160)
- Additional fee for a further period under section 31, subsection 2 of the Finnish Patents Act €150 (€140)
- Special additional fee in cases where the application is pursued according to section 31, subsection 1 or section 38, subsection 2 of the Finnish Patents Act (550/1967), and the application includes an invention that has not been the subject of an international search or international preliminary examination, and the provisions of section 36 or 37 of the Finnish Patents Act are not applicable. €580 (€540)
