Companies: from 1 January 2026, notifications and applications must be filed online with the Finnish Trade Register
All companies except private traders must file their notifications and applications online with the Finnish Trade Register from 1 January 2026.
Start-up notifications, notifications of changes, notifications of termination of business, applications and financial statements, among others, will need to be filed online.
The online filing services are the ytj.fi service in Finnish and Swedish and our online forms.
Our online filing service at ytj.fi allows you to:
- Start a company (the most common company types)
- File financial statements with the Finnish Trade Register
- Submit the most common company changes to the Finnish Trade Register and the registers of the Finnish Tax Administration
If you cannot submit your notification or application using the online filing service at ytj.fi, use our online form to send form Y or the application with attachments to the PRH. You will find links to the online forms at prh.fi. We will publish updated filing instructions at prh.fi and ytj.fi on 1 January 2026.
Mandatory online filing is based on the Finnish Trade Register Act and on an amendment to the Finnish Business Information Act. We process and register information filed online faster, which also gives everyone quicker access to Trade Register information.
