Warning: scam letters sent to trademark customers
Scam letters have been sent in the name of the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH), asking the recipient to pay fees related to trademarks. The letters refer to the PRH or the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) or give the impression that the letters are from them. However, these authorities have not sent the letters.
The letters may contain authentic trademark registration or application numbers and ask the recipient to pay fees related to them when no such fees exist in reality.
Neither the PRH nor the EUIPO send such messages. The PRH urges the recipients to check the message content and the sender details carefully before they pay any fee or agree to be bound by any service offered in the messages.
