Beware of scam messages that imitate the Finnish Business Information System

Since 23 January 2026, customers of the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) may have received an email from the address info@prh-info.fi.

The scam message states that the company's details are not updated. It asks the customer to update their register information, and threatens them with a charge of 5000 euros if they fail to comply.

The message uses the PRH logo without permission and has a fake link button to the online filing service at ytj.fi. The message is not from the PRH. Do not click the link button.

An example of the Finnish text in the letter:
”1.1.2026 voimaan tulleen yritysrekisterilain (624/2025) mukaan rekisteritiedot on päivitettävä 30 päivän kuluessa muutoksesta. Tietojen laiminlyönti voi johtaa hallinnolliseen seuraamukseen (enintään 5 000 €).”

The scam message has nothing to do with the PRH, the Finnish Business Information System, or the law amendments that took effect on 1 January 2026.

The National Cyber Security Centre at the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom has been informed of the scam email.
