Changes to the competitor monitoring fees
The Finnish Patent and Registration Office is harmonising the fees charged for patent competitor monitoring to correspond to the fees for its other commercial search services. From now on, monitoring will be billed on an hourly basis as set out in the current price list.

Competitor monitoring as an ongoing service will be invoiced once a year in November or December.
An example of the current annual fee for monitoring conducted 4 times a year (fees in May 2026):
- Basic fee 215 euros + VAT
- Hourly charge at the start of each hour 4 x 175 euros + VAT
- Invoicing charge 6.50 euros + VAT
- Total 921.50 euros + VAT (25,5 %) = 1156.48 euros
