The Finnish Patent and Registration Office will introduce Suomi.fi Messages in the coming years
An amended law that took effect on 14 April 2026 means that adult citizens will automatically receive official mail in digital form through Suomi.fi Messages. The Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) has not yet introduced Suomi.fi Messages for citizens, companies, and organisations.
The PRH maintains more than ten online services and associated background systems. It is not yet possible to introduce Suomi.fi Messages in all of them, but development is in progress, and the PRH expects to introduce Suomi.fi Messages as a comprehensive solution in all of its services in 2028.
Messages from the PRH can already be obtained online
In certain PRH services, messages can already be received online.
Several PRH customers also receive messages by post.
The PRH is developing its services so that in the future, customers of the Finnish Trade Register can give their consent to receive messages only via email.
