Notification of termination of business for a private trader to the Finnish Trade Register
File your notification of termination without delay.
The notification is free of charge.
The PRH enters the details in the notification of termination in the Finnish Trade Register. As soon as the details are registered, the protection of the registered company name is no longer in force.
If you want to restart your operations in the future, you will use the same Business ID that you had for your previous company.

What to do if there are enterprise mortgages
You must arrange the enterprise mortgages in one of the following ways in order to file the notification of termination:
- Redemption of the enterprise mortgages
- Transfer of the enterprise mortgages
- Transfer of the enterprise mortgages and continuation of the business operations
Who can file
The private trader or a person authorised by the trader signs the notification.

How to file
You can file your notification of termination using the online service at ytj.fiAvautuu uuteen välilehteen or paper forms.
Please note that the online service is only available in Finnish and in Swedish.
If you file online, log in and select what your notification relates to.
Fill in the required details and sign the notification in the service.
Notification on paper form: Please note that the processing time will be longer than when filing online at ytj.fi. Go to the instructions (in Finnish or in Swedish) concerning paper forms.
