  • Deposit Account
  • PRH Document Service

You can use our information services without identification.

Identification of private persons

Private persons should use Suomi.fi e-Identification to identify themselves. The PRH Document Service and Deposit Account are intended only for businesses, but our other services are also available for private persons for their patent and utility model matters.

Identification and authorisation alternatives for businesses

There are different identification and authorisation alternatives that businesses can use in the PRH’s patent and utility model services, depending on whether the business is Finnish or foreign and whether the representatives of the company have a Finnish personal identity code.

How company representatives can identify themselves in the new services (read further instructions by clicking on the links below):

Suomi.fi e-identification and e-authorisation

The Suomi.fi service is administered by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV).

For whom?  For Finnish businesses and for private persons who have a Finnish personal identity code.

What do you need?  A means of identification accepted by the Suomi.fi service, i.e. online banking codes, a mobile certificate, or a certificate card. If you are a representing a business, you must be authorised by the business in the Suomi.fi authorisation service to handle the affairs of the business.

Finnish Authenticator identification and authorisation with an application

The Finnish Authenticator Identification Service is administered by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV).

For whom? For foreign businesses and for private persons who act on behalf of these businesses.

What do you need?  Users need a foreigner’s user identifier (UID), and businesses must grant authorisation for these UIDs.

How to deploy the Finnish Authenticator Identification Service in the new services and apply for authorisation:

  1. Register a foreigner’s user identifier (UID) for yourself and verify your identity using the Finnish Authenticator application. Read more on how to deploy Finnish Authenticator identification at Suomi.fi.Avautuu uuteen välilehteen
  2. Submit the application for authorisation at Suomi.fi. Avautuu uuteen välilehteen
  3. Grant and request authorisation in Suomi.fi e-Authorisations:

PRH Identification

The PRH grants and administers the rights of use for the PRH Identification in its services.

For whom? For IPR experts, especially for people who cannot use Suomi.fi e-Identification.

What do you need? A username and a password. In addition, your login is always verified with a one-time password. The one-time password requires a mobile device and an application to be downloaded to it. If you want to use our new PRH Identification, send your request to advice.patents(a)prh.fi.
