Online filing will be mandatory at the Trade Register from 2026
Companies must file their notifications and applications online with the Finnish Trade Register from 1 January 2026. This does not apply to private traders, associations or foundations.
Companies must file the following notifications and applications online from 2026:
- Start-up notifications
- Notifications of changes
- Notifications of termination of business
- Applications
- Financial statements
- Corrections and other additional submissions to notifications filed with the Finnish Trade Register
Use our online filing service at ytj.fi or online forms
The online filing services are the ytj.fi service in Finnish and Swedish and our online forms.
Our online filing service at ytj.fi allows you to:
- Start a company (the most common company types)
- File financial statements with the Finnish Trade Register
- Submit the most common company changes to the Finnish Trade Register and the registers of the Finnish Tax Administration
- Send corrections and other additional submissions to notifications filed with the Finnish Trade Register

If you cannot submit your notification or application using the online filing service at ytj.fi, use our online form to send form Y or the application with attachments to the PRH.
We will publish updated instructions at prh.fi and ytj.fi on 1 January 2026. We will also provide information in announcements, customer letters, newsletters and on social media.
The change is based on the new Finnish Trade Register Act
Mandatory online filing is based on the Finnish Trade Register Act and on an amendment to the Finnish Business Information Act.
Online filing gives everyone quicker access to Trade Register information.
We process and register information filed online faster than information filed on paper forms. The online services will help you fill in the notification, which reduces the number of errors and speeds up the process.
