If needed, ask for postponement of registration
A utility model becomes public once it is registered. By postponing the registration you can prolong the application from becoming available to the public, which may also benefit the applicant. For instance, when you require more time to consider whether to continue the process abroad.
You can postpone the registration of a utility model application within 15 months from the filing date or the priority date of the application. A request for postponement must be filed within two months from the filing date and a postponement fee must be paid.
