Order a priority document

To be able to take advantage of your priority, you must prove it with a priority document, which is issued by the authority who received your first patent application.

You can order a priority document from the PRH in an informal email or letter.Tell us the application number concerned, and give the address to which you want us to send the document and the invoice. Companies that use our Payment Service can pay the priority document via the service instead of paying it by invoice. The fees for priority documents will be available in the Payment Service on request. When you order a priority document, tell us that you want to pay it via the Payment Service. If you are going to apply for a patent at a number of patent offices, ask for as many priority documents as you need. There is a fee for the priority document. Additionally we may charge for delivery and invoicing depending on the method of delivery. Check our current fees.

You can also ask us to upload your priority document to WIPO’s Digital Access Service (DAS). If you ask us to upload the priority document to DAS, provide us with your email address to which an access code will be sent.
