Registering the executive committee and filing changes

An association can file its executive committee for registration with the Register of Associations.

If the executive committee is filed with the Register of Associations, it is also possible for other adult committee members besides the chairperson to sign for the association when it is filing notifications of changes with the Register of Associations.

File the association’s executive committee and its changes online or by using a paper form. It is faster to file online than by using paper forms.

Filing changes to the members of the executive committee will not change the details about the persons entitled to sign for the association. If the committee members also have the right to sign for the association, submit a notification of changes about the persons entitled to sign for the association, if necessary. Go to our instructions on filing changes to the chairperson and other persons entitled to sign for the association.

When do I file the notification?

Registering the executive committee of an association is voluntary. If the executive committee of the association is registered in the Register of Associations, file a notification of changes every time there are changes to the composition of the executive committee, or if the association wants to deregister the committee’s details.

File the changes without delay.

Who files the notification?

The chairperson of the association’s executive committee or other adult member of the executive committee signs the notification.

The person who signs the notification must have a Finnish personal identity code and personal internet banking codes, a mobile certificate, or an electronic identity card (HST card).

If the person who fills in the notification is not entitled to sign for the association, he or she must give the filing ID (asiointitunnus, ärendenummer) of the notification to the person entitled to sign, so that the person can log in to the service to sign the notification.

What does it cost to file online?

A notification of changes to the executive committee costs 25 euros.

At the same time, you can file changes of persons entitled to sign for the association without any additional fee. Read more about filing details of persons entitled to sign for the association.

You must pay the notification online with your internet bank codes or by credit card. Read more in our price list.

How to file online

Please note that the online filing service is only available in Finnish and in Swedish.

You will need the Finnish personal identity codes of the executive committee members.

If a committee member has no Finnish personal identity code, you will need their date of birth, citizenship, and home address. Attach a copy of their passport or identification document. The copy must be in PDF, JPG or JPEG format.

The notification is signed, sent, and paid in the online service.

Pay the notification in the online service after it has been signed. The PRH will not process your notification until you have paid for the handling fee.

Go to the online service.

If you file your notification using a paper form, the processing time will be longer than when filing online. Go to our instructions on paper forms.

How to follow the processing of the notification

You can follow the processing of your association’s notification in our online service. Go to the online service of the Register of Associations to follow the processing of your notification.

Terminated appointment or own resignation

If you have resigned or your appointment has otherwise been terminated, you can file a notification of changes with the Register of Associations. Read our instructions on terminated appointment or own resignation.
