The executive committee of the association

Registering the executive committee with the Register of Associations is voluntary. You can file the executive committee in the start-up notification or later with a notification of changes.

If the executive committee of the association is filed with the Register of Associations, it is possible even for other adult committee members besides the chairperson to sign the notifications of changes in the Register of Associations.

The executive committee of the association represents the association. The executive committee must have a chairperson. The number or the minimum and maximum number of the members in the executive committee must be mentioned in the rules of the association. The chairperson of the executive committee must be an adult. Other members of the executive committee must be 15 years of age or over. A person who is bankrupt can not function as a member of the executive committee.

The chairperson of the executive committee must be resident in Finland, unless the Finnish Patent and Registration Office grants an exception of this provision. Read more about applying for an exemption.

Read our instructions on start-up notification.
